My Story

I started my therapeutic journey as a fellow client, just like you.  As a young man, coming out of the military and starting college, I found that I often had a different perspective on life than my peers due to my experiences overseas.  The adjustment period from military life to civilian life was tough but I found solace while working with my own therapist.  The experience was very enlightening and I wanted to be able to help others who might be struggling through their own transition in life.

The best part about therapy is the opportunity to have some outside perspective on a stressful situation. While you might think you can get this from friends or family, keep in mind they are never truly unbiased and may not be able to provide the objectivity you need to make the best decision. Working with a therapist provides you with practical and proven tools needed to be successful.

Throughout my journey as a therapist, I have worked with many individuals struggling with a variety of issues ranging from interpersonal relationship conflict to internal anxieties.  The wealth of different backgrounds my clients come from has helped me to hone my skills and become adaptable to their problems. I look forward to the possibility of helping you also.

Ebony Manzano

Hello, My name is Ebony, I have spent most of my therapy career working as an intensive in-home specialist for youths in the New Jersey area. I recently transitioned to North Carolina to be closer to family and started at Spring Point Counseling. My specialties lie in working with children and their families in high risk situations to guide them to a happier and healthier home life.

My role as a youth specialist therapist entails providing crisis and clinical interventions for youth dealing with emotional and behavioral challenges. This includes creating tailored treatment plans to meet their specific needs and goals and providing diverse clinical interventions to both the youth and their families. Collaboration with the child, their families, the school's faculties, and other psychiatric professionals is essential to offer support to families.

I view therapy as a tool to help guide individuals towards their own personal goals. With this mindset, I work from a “person-centered” approach. This means that I believe most cookie-cutter solutions fall short to a path of healing. Let's face it, everyone's journey is unique and deserves personalized attention. Whether it's individuals seeking solace, couples navigating rough waters, or families yearning for harmony, I'm equipped to help guide you toward brighter horizons.

Lillie Turner Hatchett

Life frequently presents itself as a complex web of challenges, leaving us ensnared in recurring thought patterns, interpersonal discord, or limited perspectives that hinder our ability to thrive.

As someone with many years of experience navigating the corporate world, I understand the complexities of balancing work, family, and interpersonal trials. If you are struggling with this web of challenges, I am a counselor trained to utilize therapy techniques to support you and others facing complexities such as anxiety, depression, grief, and complex relational concerns.

As a counselor I can see how our past influences our present and recognize that it is a crucial aspect of therapy. I'm here to support and guide you through that journey. Regardless of your gender, age, racial identity, or sexual orientation, my approach is rooted in creating a safe and accepting space for you.

I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy, aiming to foster a healing environment either in person or virtually, where you can openly discuss your personal and relational concerns. We can unravel any struggles, pinpoint effective coping mechanisms, and foster genuine connections in relationships. Together, we'll develop strategies to challenge unhelpful thought patterns and find the most effective ways to alleviate your suffering and promote healing. Help is just a call away.

Devionne Fields

I’m a Clinical Intern with Spring Point Counseling finishing my last year of graduate school at Lenoir-Rhyne University. My prior clinical experience involves working with individuals struggling with substance abuse and utilizing medication-assisted treatment.

I understand the difficulties that come with major life changes, feeling alone at times, and not knowing where life is headed. Therapy can be helpful, but taking the first step can be challenging. However, I'm here to provide a safe and supportive experience that will leave you feeling empowered to face whatever life throws your way.

My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy and respect. I'm drawn to a variety of evidence-based techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. However, I also strive to incorporate different theoretical orientations to tailor my approach to meet the specific needs of each client.

When I'm not working or studying for school, you can usually find me at home trying to achieve new goals on my Xbox or catching up on the latest movies and TV shows with my friends and family.
